The Apostle Paul’s words of comfort and encouragement continue to ring through the ages … all the way to today, in these Bible verses from 2 Corinthians 4, bringing victory, whether we are facing spiritual, physical, or mental adversities.

Yes, it is true that, today, just as the early Christians, “We are pressed on every side by troubles … We are perplexed … We are hunted down (persecuted) … We get knocked down …”
Yet, we can take comfort-and strength from the same Source which kept Paul and early believers living by faith: “We are not crushed (distressed) … never abandoned by God … we keep going.”
Paul closes this encouraging passage by speaking of their sufferings as a counterpart of the sufferings of Christ, in order that people would be able to see the power of Christ working in us, "so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.”
